South Jordan Storm Drain Master Plan

Franson Civil Engineers was retained to prepare a Storm Drainage Capital Facility Plan (CFP) for the city of South Jordan to assist them with new development. Planning included the Midas Creek Basin, 10400 South, and Redwood Road Basins. All basins were modeled using hydrologic and hydraulic techniques.

The CFP identified several elements:

  • The city’s storm drainage system needs in five years, ten years, and then at build-out based on the 2002 Storm Drain Master Plan
  • The overall phasing and sequencing of improvements
  • Identification of the associated costs
  • Cost allocation for the purpose of justifying the collection of future impact fees from future developments

We coordinated with the City, Salt Lake County Flood Control, and the developers.
